Who hasn't had a gummi candy?!? From gummi bears to every type of gummi insect on the planet, gummi candies have taken the world by storm and people are eating them up!
Believe it or not, the first gummi candies (bears,) originated in the 1920s in Germany. Made by Hans Riegel, the owner of the German candy company Haribo, it wasn't until 1982 that Haribo introduced America to them. Since that time, Gummi candies have come in a wildly fantastic variety of shapes and sizes and have even been memorialized in the famous Gummi Bear song! Haribo bears have since long held their place of popularity among American candies.
